Who's Gov't Mule taking a shot at in the song "Mr. High & Mighty"?
I've read/heard it's either Chris Robinson or Dickey Betts, anyone know what the story is?

I've always wondered who Warren was singing about in Towering Fool.
Warren ain't saying...

I've often wondered how many of Warren's songs were 'real'. Because if they are, I bet his wife stays pissed LOL... All those "beautifully broken" and other songs of groupies etc.
My favorite of his these days is "Endless Parade" which is surely about Betts. as far as Mr. High n Mighty... if this doesnt say "DICKEY BETTS" I dont know what does : You reunite with your long lost brothers on an old abandoned ship There was a time when you brought joy to others Guess you got caught up in the trip Mr High and Mighty remember when you were low On the sunny streets of Georgia but that was a long time ago It cant be Robinson, because those two guys ran off everybody else in the band, no reunions ever. Plus it wasnt that long ago, and they never abandon ship. Soooo.... Betts it is. |

Gregg had a terrible childhood, all the way through Duane dying. I dont think he was ever a dick to anyone but the women he wanted rid of. I could be wrong, but that's how I hear/read it. Dickey, on the other hand... lived up to his name every chance he got. |

All I've heard about either one of those guys is how hard they were to get along with. Regardless, a HUGE, HUGE fan of both.

I believe it is about noone in particular. The Allmans tune "High Cost of Low Living"' may be about Dickie though

i always heard it was Cris Robinson. something about a planned tour together that Cris bailed on at the last minute. might just be an internet rumor
![]() i see it a lot here and always wonder; what's the thrill in posting "who cares?" nothing of substance to say?
