dogs never really l;eave us. They absolutely stay in our heart. I love dogs. We had a boxer for 10 + years (Maggie), that we put down last year. We just got a new puppy a couple of weeks ago. I am glad we did. I am not replacing Maggie.

If you have never read the book, get "A Dog's Purpose". Yes you will shed quite a few tears, but it is a great book.

I'm very sorry to hear this. It won't be too far down the line for us I'm afraid. Our Pit mix Hitch gets a little bit weaker every day. We just cherish all the time we've had and have left together.
Prayers of comfort given.

Thump your chest a little- you did the right and honorable thing.

There is very little in human existence that matches the love of a dog.

Sad to hear, but I'm with the others who say go get the rescue dog. My dogs turned 4 today and it always makes me aware of the short time we have with them.

The rescue dog may already have a home. I admit some disappointment, but things do happen for a reason. I'll know by Monday or so.

This makes my stomach and heart both hurt real bad.

Deepest condolences. I'd been avoiding opening this thread, but couldn't continue.

Peace for you, your family, and Jupy.

Yes, and a very sad duty it is. My condolences.

Going to have to put the mighty Hunter down in the next couple of days, and it's breaking my heart.

14 1/2 year old Chow/shepard mix. Greatest dog EVER.

It seems like the last decent thing we can do for him, but man, I never expected to feel this bad.

Thanks, bro.

Right back at you.

My sorry, old, cynical, contraian ass has tears in my eyes as I'm contemplating this.

I grew up with buttloads of dogs on a farm, some survive, some don't, but this one was a member of the family, and from your previous posts, I know you know what I mean.

I think I need a whiskey and some Hank III.
