el84 question...

Hey all- I just re-tubed my Blues Jr with some Tube amp Doctor el84's... I've always been a loyal JJ user for my power tubes but I thought I'd switch it up...I dig the the sound of TAD's but there seems to be less output..not a lot, maybe a couple decibels but noticeable...what do you think?

Thanks!!

Yes I did..they were slightly louder...maybe a different grading when they were matched (if that makes any sense )?

thanks for the response Blue Strat

Yes, the grading could make a difference. JJ's also tend to be a bit brighter which is often perceived as louder.
