My Timmy does not seem to cut in a live mix...

So I've been stacking with a tubescreamer for leads. Anyone else have similar feelings/experiences?

Maybe your bass and/or treble are set too high? I would back both of them down to get more midrange. It will never be a TS, but you can get more mids that way.

When I had my Timmy, I didn't use it as an overdrive pedal per se. I use it as a tone shaper in the end of my dirt chain to cut bass or treble with additional gain to boot.

Me too. However, if the Timmy's not cutting it, you've likely already maxed out yr amps capacity to boost regardless of the Timmy. Try a treble booster (in front) and you'll get good focus for leads. FWIW: the Timmy has tons of output volume.

not what i use it for either. it's my rhythm foundation most of the time. i use a screwdriver for leads . . . but could easily use a screamer too.

used to use a two pedal setup for just that forever with diff pedals. . .

like the bd2 and a screamer
or a boss od3 and a timmy

It sounded good to me bro. You definitely are getting good tone out of that rig and you SHOULD be questioning the thousands you have tied up in all that other gear. I think I need to go look in the mirror now.
