My dog drove my car over my brother's drumset.

It happened three weeks ago. It's a long story and even longer when I tell it, so I'll summarize in outline form.

Youngest brother's bachelor party.
In maine at our camp on a lake.
We bring the full band and make a mockery of rock-n-roll for a few days. It's an awesome time.
Dog hates explosions.. crawls into small spots to hide.
After getting the boat (18ft lake boat) out I put my fj cruiser in the turn around - up hill from where everyone is putting their bags in prep for loading up the trucks.
We were lining up the quad's trailer for loading the machines too...

Someone lights off a fire cracker for kicks and the dog lodges her 160lb body in between the drivers seat and pedals -under the steering wheel.

She's stuck - I CAN'T get her out no matter how I try - paws are all in the seat's track and lever to move back-n-forth.

I go down to the water's edge where people are getting their motivation going with jokes on a hangover sunday morning... They're all joking about the stuck dog as I explain the situation.

BANG!!!

Her big freeking head knocked the stick out of 1st gear and hit the button for the e-brake. The FJ Cruiser, with boat on the back rolled over all the bags.

That's the only photo we have of it from my friend's phone.

The passenger is lodged upon a JBL pa speaker - the plastic ones that are powered. That thing still works and barely had a scratch..

On the other side, it lodged over the bass drum and floor tom along with several other bags.

Yes, that's an empty 1/4 barrel keg.

Yes, I know I should have chaulked the vehicle and will do so from now on.

It could have been much worse. No one was hurt and it only took us 10 minutes of red-neck engineering to get the dog out and vehicle backed down off the stuff.

QUESTIONS -

Replace Drum: Where?
I want to replace the kick drum. I think the floor tom is OK, if we can replace the rim... I've been searching for some place to buy a single Yamaha bass drum to replace in this set. They're like $500.. Anyone have any advice for where to get the best price for a one off drum - used?

Anyone want to buy a jbl speaker? ?? Slightly used. has seen many out door gigs, but always taken care of. Cabinet construction is certified industrial grade. I'm just throwing it out there.

Any good jokes?

Does anyone have a dog that can drive a stick and would be willing to give my dog some lessons?

Thanks!

Man, that's unfortunate, but hilarious. Glad that no one was hurt.

Up unitl now, that is. LOL!

Seriously, though, glad nobody was hurt. Stuff is replaceable. People aren't.

That's hilarious! Sounds like everyone but the dog had a great time though.

I think you need to tell JBL this story for an upcoming tough-road-warrior advertisement. Sell them the rights for a new PA!

She loves it up there - jumps in the water whenever it occurs for her to do so... She rides on the bow of the boat like a drooling, floppy maiden statue and collapses with a groan at the end of her days.

Life is ruff..

Now, on a weekend like this, she's not a fan of the boom booms... So she barely showed her mug outside unless things were tame.
