Altering/modifying 1spot wire length ?

I'm in the process of wiring my board and want everything as clean and tidy as can be. Anybody know if cutting up the 1spot to shorten a few wire lengths between plugs would alter its performance?

I have heard of people doing all sorts of surgery to these things. Mostly cutting off extra plugs they don't need, which did not cause a problem. I run my power cords under my patch cables and use twist ties to keep tidy (tidy enough).
