Original Vox ToneLab - picked up another one
I had an original ToneLab when they were new (I think I paid $399 for it the first time). I thought it was great for cleans and medium gain tones, had some good effects, and sounded more amp-like than the Line 6, Digitech, or Boss stuff I had owned.
I eventually moved on to a PODxt & PODx3 Live because I liked the high gain tones better. It has been 4 or 5 years since I owned it. Fast forward to last week - I saw one on ebay and won it for $98/shipped. I got it yesterday and it is just as good, if not better, than I remembered. The cleans and lower gain sounds are great, the effects are good, and I can even get some good '80s metal/hair band tones using the Soldano amp model. Compared to the newer amp modelers on the market (I have tried the Axe-Fx, Eleven Rack, and all the other new stuff) I think the Tonelab still holds up pretty well.

I still have mine as well... Loved the dual pedal and never upgraded because they took it away... It's built like a tank too. I use it as a great midi pedal board when I'm not using it for sound.

Have the ST version & wish it had the features of the original.
And come on, Vox - stripping away useful options in favor of things like onboard speakers just so you can call it "a first", is just plain assinine. It should be law that all multi units have a detailed, readable display & a loop. And ideally, the ability to run any 6 fx at once with unlimited routing order. |

Still digging my Tonelab LE I've had for 3+ years. So much more simple to use than the line6 stuff. (at least to my brain)
