Looking for foam pad to isolate amp head from cab

Anyone use something like this or suggestions where to get one? Looking to help tame vibrations which cause the powertubes to rattle in my Fender head.

I saw something like it in the Youtube video of rene martinez showing mayers rig.

Any advise appreciated.

yes, go to sweetwater and look in their home studio section for monitor isolation foam pieces. There are ones to keep bass amps off of the floor to preserve the tone of the amp as well. Just look around, you'll find what you're looking for there, or if you call them, they will fix you up. Hope this helps

I have a foam shop in my locale. I go there and buy foam straight from them. I would try that. Google around and see if there is a foam shop close to you, and go there, feels some of the samples so you can select the softness/firmness you need, and have them cut you a piece that is the size you want. It'll be dirt cheap.

That's what I have..a piece of foam, nothing special, and it works perfectly. I have a full length reverb tank in my amp head, so, the foam is good to get the cab fro mshacking the reverb springs too much.

I use a piece cut from a rubber floor mat - the kind they use in commercial kitchens. About an inch thick. Grippy & durable.

I've also seen some kneeling pads like used for gardening and work shops. Seems like they would work too.

I use it between the cab and floor, but I snagged some closed-cell foam from a packing crate. Free and effective.

How big is your cab? I use an amp stand for my head and lean the cab against the stand. The cab just fits up under the arms that are holding the head, so it works out perfect. If you run a 4x12 though, it may not work!

You might also check the products from Herbie's Audio Lab. They're not as big as foam would be, if that's an issue, and would probably be more expensive.

A folded beach towel works just fine as well.

After all the ideas and "inspiration" this is what I came up with. I bought a "kneeling pad" like one would use for gardening, but I chose one that's geared for shop use as it's a bit thicker. Got it from my local Grainger store. The brand name is NoTrax...

I also added a piece of foamboard I got from my local craft store in their framing dept. I think it turned out great and the best part...No more tube rattle!

This is what I use as well...nabbed it from a Dish Network receiver box. Free, and does the job. My Superbass doesn't fit perfectly on my 1965 cabs, and this solves that problem too.
