If i use a variac to drop my AC to 90 volts.........{?}





If i use a variac to drop my AC line voltage from 116-121 where it runs down to 90 volts to Brown out will i need to rebias?

As long as the amp is otherwise healthy, you shouldn't need to.

Although the Eddie Thing was to crank the bias wide open and voltage down to keep from redPlating.

My Ultimate Attenuator has an outlet to drop the voltage some, tried it on my modded marshalls without the using attenuator, thought the change was very slight and actually preferred the standard tone.

That sounds painful from the amps standpoint.

I think all this Eddie/mod/variac is OK but at what point is enough.

My amps sound fantastic the way they are, prolly shouldn't mess with that.

Got an old 50's phonograph conversion se6L6 that sounds sweeter/warmer at 108v instead of the house 119v. But its probably not noticeable for most folks.
