Expression pedals: what do you control?
Today my second Boss FV500L expression pedal arrived in the mail. I wanted a second one to be able to control volume (Switchblade 8) with one and wah (Lexicon MPX G2) with the other.
There are many many parameters that can be controlled, but what do you guys control with continuous controllers? Think of things like: - Chorus mix - Delay time - Delay feedback - Pitch - Reverb length - Amp crossfading (one preamp on heel, other amp on toe, and a nice mix in between). |

Is this solely for rack gear?
For pedals, I always suggest this to people and it seems to get overlooked - I overlooked it until Sam, who makes them, emailed me about it. Try a few Kickdisks! I have two on my board and thinking about putting more on in the future. It lets you control settings on the fly and is much less invasive than adding an expression. I also find it more precise than an expression. Click my signature to see a pic of my board if your interested - I use it for delay level and modulation speed so far. I am thinking about doing it for amp crossfading as well (actually amp channel crossfading) with a clean and dirty channel.

It is indeed rack effects only (also because I don't have pedals that can handle expression).
Kickdiscs are cool, but first of all I think I want my foot on the ground (or at least on a stable surface) and second of all, all my pedals are in the rack . It's a great idea, but not for me.I will explain my patches a bit more, so it may become a bit clearer. 1. Rhythm Clean. Phaser+compressor. Exp1 for volume, Exp2 for speed of a rotary, which I can enable on the fly. 2. Rhythm Overdrive. A little reverb. No idea what to control, volume probably with Exp1. 3. Phat Lead. 300 ms delay with short feedback. Exp1 for volume, Exp2 for wah. 4. Epic Lead. 400 ms delay with longer feedback. Exp1 for volume, no idea for Exp2 yet (don't think I like whammy). 5. Grand Clean. Chorus (pedal) + delay (250 ms). Exp1 for volume. 6. Grand Overdrive; same as 5. 7. Classic drive. Crunchy overdrive with a little reverb. No idea for expression :P. 8. Clean Lead. Gilmourish compressor+delay. Exp1 probably for volume. 9. Shimmer. Octaved reverb (from G-Major 2). Exp1 for volume, Exp2 for Reverb mix/volume. |

I don't use them much. I use MFX and use the expression for wah, whammy and rotary speed.

I use them generally to control delay feedback.
