Just say no! To Nickelback.

I wouldn't know a Nickelback song if it bit me on the butt, so I can't say I'm a hater, but I do see people around here love to make fun of them, and unlike most subjects like that, no one defends them! Which is huge, considering you can't even diss Rebecca Black's Friday around here without getting a lecture.

So just in the interest of I just it's think it's funny--

i dont argue success of nickleback, bieber, rebecca black, or other.

fact is they did something many of us here would have loved to do. we either did not have the support, money, skills, timing, etc etc etc to do it. cheers to them all.

nickelback has done well for 10 years. cannot argue with that. rebecca black made 12 million dollars from her song just in youtube views. top that!

music is grueling industry full of critics has beens and want to be's.

I think nickel back is a band that TGP loves to hate. Lol. I enjoy some of their songs, but they're really easy to make fun of. And I make fun of everyone when given the opportunity. Including myself.

yes youtube views. iirc she is splitting proceeds with writers, video team and studio.

viral video made her enough to not have to work if she lives a modest lifestyle. she will do well if her notoriety and fan base/haters keeps up.

yep, i actually got an email from youtube asking if i wanted them to place adds in my videos and then share the advertising proceeds. i don't really have any high traffic videos so they mus be sending that out to everyone now..

on a side note.. i actually had to play a nickelback song with cover the band i'm in (thank God it went down from 3 to 1 after i convinced them that they all sound the same). one redeeming quality about their songs, the very simple progressions make it very easy to just go crazy over your solos in. can't decide who's music i despise more, them or creed..

Speaking as one who has 9,250,000 views, trust me, she didn't get 12mil off YouTube ads/Adsense

The math doesn't work.

I got that email too. I'm debating it.

I couldn't care less what people say, they are a solid band, and their lyrics actually mean something. Probably the best singer in the business.

there's music "musos" like and there's music real people like & real people are the 1s that buy records - most of the music produced today (or @ any time) has no relevance to me personally so i don't take nickelback personally or indeed at all - anyone successful in business is gonna have detractors so i'm not against bagging what i see as wallpaper - ateotd it means nothing to sprout opinions on an internet forum - nickelback are still rich
