Especially in natural... One sexy looking guitar with great pickups for a good price. Might I preemptively say, nice job Gibson.

I like it a lot too. I'm eying up the Vintage sunburst. I figure that a 20% coupon will come around soon enough and I'll be able to pick one up for $1200.

This just looks like a dumbed-down version of my ES-339.

Looks nice to me, but to me (forgive my ignorance) it does look like your average ES-3xx

Why 'dumbed-down'?

It may very well be a dumbed down version (whatever that means) but more importantly, its is a priced down version.

MAP on these is $1499, ES339's run $2199 MAP

And the Midtown has the custom headstock and 5 layer binding.

wrong.

the midtown is a flat top dumbed down version of the 336 if anything.

back is 1 piece chambered mahogany. Top is 1 piece maple.

It's not laminate and glue.

What the heck is "richlite"? Sounds like some kind of plastic to me...

Richlite is a pressed paper product that is very versatile. It can be made into any color (solid throughout), and "planks" of up to 3" deep can be made...and you can carve it into a ball shape, it's that strong. We'll probably see Guitar bodies made with it one day.
They're being creative with the Rosewood problem.
Richlite, Torrified Maple, Baked Maple.

My thought is that this is a lot of guitar at the price...so is EVERY part of this Guitar MIA?
