Folkish suggestions

Can you guys hook me up with some good folk/folk rock/alt country type suggestions? I've got the craving for some folky goodness and I'm worn out on the stuff I had been listening to.

Who are you listening to that burned you out? Are you looking specifically for new artists?

I always go back to Hank Williams (no number required IMO) and Cash. That usually leads to early Bob Dylan, then to the Band.

I was thinking newer bands...maybe some that are below the radar right now. I do love going back and listening to the oldies but sometimes I like fresh takes on things you know? Lately it's been a lot of Ryan Adams, Dolorean, and Joshua James.

Yea, seriously a great band. I've definitely overplayed them at this point!

Some great local acts in the Nashville area that I'm sure you'd dig:

Derek Hoke
Brian Ritchey
Warren Buford Givens, Jr.
Dead Leaves (shamless self promotion)
Bear Cub
Allen Thompson
Don Gallardo & How Far West
Trapper Haskins & the Bitter Swill

All can be found on facebook.
