Hi everybody,
I have a question about playing live with two amps. I've been using a Strymon Bluesky for Stereo reverb, and I'm happy with the sound. Recently I've bought a passive splitter and now I'm wondering (just for the sake of it) what would happen if I used a normal mono reverb (like a ehx holy grail), and just split the output signal between the two amps. Would there be a noticeable difference? I know in the first case it would be "true stereo" and in the second, just "split mono", but how noticeable is it in regular live use? I would appreciate your opinions. Thank you guys. |

I think in a live setting (with a drummer even breathing on a snare drum or crash) you'd be very hard pushed to tell any difference. If anything, you might even get a more obvious reverb tone as the two amps will have different reverb circuits, as opposed to the stereo capability of the Strymon which would have similarities on both sides.
I don't think you can lose either way :-) |
