I'm interested, too. Just jumped on the pickle-vibe coupon. FWIW I'm trying it before dirt (but after fuzz) 1st.

I like mine before, but also, I think about it this way: with a replica of the original Univibe circuit -- not just a sound-alike -- you have a low input impedance, 68K ohms IIRC, which, when it loads the guitar, darkens the tone and I think lets the 'vibe develop it's characteristic dark, chewy tone. If you put a switched-on pedal or a buffer in front of that, you lose the impact of that loading and you get a much brighter 'vibe tone. Some people will love that because it's more present and it cuts more, but for me, I'm looking for that dark 'vibe tone so that's another reason why I keep my vibe ahead of any dirt. In fact if I want a dirty 'vibe tone I kinda like my Mojovibe pushed past unity gain into an amp on the verge of breakup, goosed to a little extra dirt by that smidge of gain that the Mojo can provide past unity better than a 'vibe plus dirt pedal tone.

Before.............I want to add the "vibe" sound and then dirty that up. NOT vise versa.

Mine is after the fuzz and boost, but I typically run it without the fuzz running.

Robin Trower: 1st, before everything else, even before Wah.

Vibe has a softer sound when placed before dirt. So, too, phaser and flanger.

Depends on which vibe.
The Pickle is dark, the Micro is bright.

The Pickle has a trim pot inside which can shift the sound from thin shimmer to fat throb - well worth experimenting with it if you find the factory setting too dark (I did).

FWIW I normally run mod effects post dirt, but I run the Pickle before because the sweep accentuates the character of the dirt in a cool way.

I've got a slight boost with a touch of hair before it, but all the heavier dirt goes after. IMHO, the vibe gets too saturated if you put the dirt before and the throb is not clean.

Usually the vibe goes in front of any fuzz(dirt). Certain brands work better wherever the placement. The Megavibe, and the Microvibe come to mind.

it's amazing how many pedals people say have to go first before everything else. I have heard people say wah pedal, Fuzz, Compressor now vibe. Basically you just have to plug it in and try it both ways and make a choice that fits your music style and sounds best for you. Not all pedals are created equal or the same and one Vibe might not work well before and only after or vise versa or maybe you get lucky and buy a pedal that sounds great both ways - just try it and see.
