RP1000 v GT10

I'm specifically wondering how the GT10 compares to the RP1000 as far as using the 4cm and no amp sims. The RP sounds and works really good but imo lacks a good Marshally stomp box model and the chorus models are a little dry. Also, the harmonizer in the RP is useless. Anyone have extensive experience with both units in this manner? Thanks.

I've used both the GT10 and RP1000 in 4CM.
I greatly preferred the RP1000.

While there are a few effects in the GT10 that I loved, it just didn't have the magic that the RP1000 did. Also, the RP1000 has zero noise in 4CM.

I don't use many of the stompboxes in the RP1000 (I'm now using the GSP1101).
However, the JCM800 amp sim sounds great in 4CM.

I actually preferred the Chorus in the RP1000 to most of the other units I've tried (probably equal to the GT10). However, I admit the harmonizer isn't that good.

I had a GT-8 and have a RP1000. The RP is miles better.

I'll most likely get another RP1000. It's just organic and real sounding. I had a GT8 that was nice but had a certain digital something going on. When I sold it and got an RP1000 I was amazed by how natural it sounded.

I don't normally advertise "simplicity" because it usually means a device is limited.
But......seriously.....
Anyone that has used a GT10 understands that you can be tweaking knobs for hours.

Don't get me wrong. I love Boss gear. I've had an "On-again/Off-again" relationship with them.
But for all the fiddling you'll do with a GT10, the RP1000 is just so much easier to use.

I had both for a while and kept the RP. The cocked wah tonality and the fact that the GT seems to have problems reproducing more than one note at once (without aliasing problems) did me in. The DigiBrown model is really good for Marshall tones in the RP. You can do a search for my more thorough comparison between the two units.

Effects-wise, I think Boss has the edge, but amp models-wise I think the RP has the advantage.
