Yes. I saw them on that tour in Madison, WI, and it was a good show.

And the footage of that whole Oakland show has just been sitting there in the vault, unmastered, unreleased, for thirty years.

That is Great footage OP.
The 78-82 material is so Right its astounding.

BTW that whole group of youtube 81 Oakland footage is pure Gold imo.
If I could find the VHS my buddy had from the 79 VH II shows Id have a stroke.
The quality was very close too the Oakland footage.
This is amazing.....

granted this is good stuff....but....

I'm guessing ya'll weren't teenagers in the 80's when MTV ruled the roost, when you'd come home from school and hunker down in somebodies living room, maybe a bong being passing round, 'maybe' not....because....these video's from Oakland (Unchained and the one prior to it, So this is love and HAIL) were mainstays on that channel....it was the only way to get an 'xtra' VH fix in between tours...they were the 'bootlegs' that weren't. When they said, VH coming up next, you hoped to god it was these. It was a BIG deal that one guy actually, used a 'boombox' to record these when they came on to transcribe them...lol. Some perspective there.....

..I guess what's old is 'new' again....cool

Brings back memories. I saw them on the Fair Warning tour at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. We had a French foreign exchanged student, Philipe. His English wasn't that great but he knew every word to every song VH played. Good times.

Ahhh....I live through my brother with these vids. I was only ten in 81 and by brother was 18 and got to go to that Oakland show. He tried to convince my parents to bring me along, but to no avail...I was too young for "that type of show" He raved about it with his friends for years.

To this day..I remind my Dad about "that type of show"....

And my brother reminded him of "that type of show" when my Dad said no to my brother going to see Zeppelin in 76 or 77.....

Parents...

A true crime. Love the band but dont understand some of the things they do. Between this and a doc about the reunion they could make a fortune.

i don't have to tell you guys , but the thing about Eddie is how amazing he plays rythym guitar, his tone is GOD and you hear every note in the chord played at an amazing tempo....it flows so tight but yet so loose.....truly incredible!

What I think is cool is the next show was Portland in June of 81.
That was the show I went to with my buddies when I was in the 8th grade.
I remember the stage stuff, DLRs outfit and what a great show it was.
Stood in the rain outside for 6 hours before admission.
