Sony Tablet S - yay or nay?
Ive been toying with getting a tablet for a while...I have a macbook pro, imac, iphone and my wife has an ipad and have thought about trying an andriod device.
The Sony looks quite cool. It has some nice featires like IR for universal remote, SD slot, more ergonomic, trublack screen tech like their TV's and playstation gaming capability. Some of my concerns would be the cheaper plastic housing, no microphone, less inbuilt memory and lack of emerald scratch proof glass screen, like the ipad. Anyone using one? Thoughts? I vote Nay, but I haven't tried a Sony.

Yeah its pretty hard to beat the iOS and the smoothness with which apple products scroll and multi-touch.

Personally I have a hard time shelling out for something that is an overblown phone. Actually, it isnt even that as it has no mobile...
Of course, this is on the heels of 5 years of commercials selling phones to text.. YMMV. C

i like the tablet S in terms of ergonomics and design, but its not the best of the android tablets, which is admittedly a shallow pool to begin with.
asus transformer prime.... same price, quad core processor, 16gb, great screen, great battery life, android 4.0 ICS, and optional keyboard dock which gives you netbook like functionality and doubles the battery life. |

While I am currently an iPad 2 user, two people at the office have the Sony tab and love it. I have also seen the new Kindle Fire and it has done some things right (including the pricing). I expect the Fire to be a big hit.
Apple will own the tab market short-term and may even retain the higher end market, but there will be tons of cool lower-priced options that will be great. Apple no longer has any serious lead in apps with Android having more than enough great stuff for almost anyone IMO. Evan. |
