Interesting speaker match

I just got a Top Hat combo with one Celestion Blue. Now I know it is a very efficient speaker. Ive had a 1X12 cab loaded with a Weber Thames ( rated at 80 watts, dont know efficiency because Weber didnt say) . So I ran the two together and the 15 watt Blue was not drowned out at all. It came through very strongly. Guess you never know. Still might get a G12H-30 to pair up w/ the Blue.

Power-handling and sensitivity are two separate things. The Blue is rated 100dB which is pretty efficient as far as guitar speakers go. There aren't many speakers that will overpower a Blue.

I understand. Just thought the Thames would dominate.

I knew the sensitivity rating on the Blue was 100db at 1 meter, but would like the equal rating comparison on the Weber Thames. Anyone know it?

If the two speakers were the same ohm rating, and if they were the same volume, then that means that the sensitivity must be the same. (well, frequency response of the speakers would make a LITTLE difference, but in good guitar speakers, that difference wouldn't be large enough to consider) And the cabinets that each speaker is in should be about the same of course.

On the same hand, if one speaker is louder than the other, it would mean that the louder speaker had greater sensitivity. That's about all there is to it.
