Loop pedals
Am thinking of picking up a loop pedal. Amazon and youtube make the Boss RC-3 look pretty good. Do you fellows recommend anything else?

I was on that search a month ago. I ended up realizing that I don't need all of the bells and whistles (backing tracks, drums, etc). I bought a TC FLashback. It has a 40 sec looper built in (you really don't need more than that). I could not be happier. Great delay pedal for the money 2. If you want a true loop pedal than I would recommend the RC-3 or Boomerang (if you are willing to spend a lot).

Yea, I use the Flashback, use the loop about 1/week when I wanna play over a simple funky rhythm for a bit... I use it in stereo, so it only has 20 seconds for me.
If you want to go all out, the Boomerang III is sweet. If you want something compact, check out the Jamman.

Boomerang 1 isnt that expensive, Ive used the III and its freaking sweet! My problem with the flashback is that if your only using it as a looper then the other 10 settings arent being used and some of them sound great. I was about to buy one but now im considering the Boomerang 2.0
If there just the Flashback looper in a pedal for like $40 or $50 I think it would sell |

Are you guys talking about the TC Electronics "Flashback Delay and Looper"? Looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/TC-Electronics...3044923&sr=1-1? That's not much cheaper than the Boss RC-3 -- you can get into the TC for $140 - $150, and the RC-3 for $170. The Boomerang III is $470 (not gonna happen). Leaning toward the RC-3, cause I don't need the other effects that come on the TC. Other thoughts?

Get the RC3 and a Boss FS5U. That essentially turns it into an RC30 and saves you a chunk of dough. I've owned 5 loopers and I used this one extensively and it's my favorite. It has a USB port on the back so you can drop loops into the pedals presets. It's great for me to use as a footswitchable sampler. Adding the extra FS will basically allow you to use the RC3 to start loops and the FS to stop. That way you don't have to play the double tap/hold for 2 seconds game on it.

I use a boomerang III and love it.

Surprisingly, the Line 6 m9 has a very usable looper in it if you only need a basic looper and 60 seconds of record time will do it for you. It doesn't tone suck at all and the playback sounds great.
I really wanted to like the new boss looper pedals, but I found they had some noticable tone suck and I was less than impressed with the fidelity of playback. I've heard good things about the Boomerang III, but have never had opportunity to check one out. It was also way more feature laden than what I needed for what I wanted to do with a looper. My 2 cents, anyhow. |

I had a Boomerang, a RC-20XL and a Digitech JamMan Stereo. The JamMan was the best, IMO.

The boomerang doesnt really have save space but it is killer for live looping plus you can manipulate the loops. The old ones let you reverse them or stack loops. The III does everything

I would kill to snag a Boomerang III for cheap... ugh.

I don't own a loop pedal, but hellomusic.com has an rc-30 for a pretty good deal if you are in the market!

Boomerang 3 is the best, but comes with a hefty price tag. IF you are looking for something to jam on, the Boss Rc-20XL is great, i have one if you are looking to buy, i need to get rid of it since i got my boomerang 3. The rc-30 is a big pile of garbage and actually went backwards. the rc-20XL is a SOLID loop station.

I've had a RC-2 and RC-3, Akai Headrush, EHX SMMH, and TC Flashback for looping. Recently pulled the trigger on a great deal for a Boom III and finally get what the hype is about. In fits of GAS i consider letting go, but it's by far the easiest to use and has the best tone I've experienced first hand. It can do a lot more than I've ever asked of it, but it also works great for looping simpletons like myself
![]() It's kinda spendy, but I would have saved cash if I'd just pulled the trigger first instead of the GAS cycle described above.

Digitech Jamman Solo. It's user friendly, tons of options. If I could figure it out and enjoy it, anybody can. For reference, I had a RC-2, an RC-20XL and the Jamman Solo. The Digitech's been my favorite.
