Pedal/Pawn/Guitar shops in the San diego area?

hey guys, i will be there next week and am looking for some cool places to try out some pedals...I live halfway across the country in hickville where they think that a TIMMY is a kid to help haul dirt.

any of you guys have any good suggestions where to hit up...looking to buy some stuff that i can try out for a change!

thanks in advance

In the San Diego area, I would recommend Buffalo Brothers and Super Sound. Heck, even the Guitar Center in La Mesa has a pretty impressive new collection of pedals to try. The Blue Guitar is small (and the workers are not super friendly), but they have some interesting high-end guitars there.

HOWEVER, with that said... you should really drive a few hours north to TrueTone in Santa Monica. It's totally worth it!!! The last time I was there, my brain almost couldn't process all the awesomeness surrounding me. Total gearhead overload. I'm not joking!

I don't know if it's still there, but Guitar Trader on Clairemont Mesa Blvd is pretty good.

Super Sound is probably your best bet. Unfortunately Buffalo Brothers is a mere shadow of what it used to be, but probably worth a visit. The Guitar Centers in the area get some good used pedal deals.

It's still there (called Music Power these days). It's okay, I mostly go there because it's close to my work. Not a huge fan.

And plug for Super Sound. Brian is a good guy and he has good prices. I happen to work about a mile from them, which is very bad for my wallet.

I've talked to Loren about it....though he may not recall. They can't make it with piles of really cool instruments, pedals, etc. They stock what sells, so there's really no boutique to be found.

I agree with the others SuperSound Music has some cool stuff and Brian is a great guy. Not the easiest place to find though. Buffalo Brothers can be fun, especially if you dig acoustics, but they have some cool electrics and pedals. Both are in north county, so if you are downtown you'd have a bit of a drive (30 mins. or so).

My son works at Guitar Center in La Mesa. If you decide to go there let me know and I'll give you his contact info and he will give you the lowest price they are allowed to since I referred you.
