Robin on SNL

WTF? Bad 80s disco, spastic girl singer with a bowl haircut. Why?

That top reminds me of the sheep chaps Aykroyd and Hanks wore to the PAGAN party in Dragnet. Lol, and she whips out the electric slide. Haven't seen that dance in a while.
That said, while it's not my kind of music, I respect anyone that gets up there in front of the world and does their thing.

This thread will probably be gone by the time I log in tomorrow, but what the hey - I'll add my tuppence...

Well crafted songs, performed by a singer who stayed on pitch in spite of some radical dance moves in the name of Show and Entertainment.

I like Robyn...good tunes, great singer, very specific identity and not manufactured. She's a bit like Bjork in that she does her own thing, albeit a lot less outre than Bjork.

i would hazard a guess that TGP is not her target demographic.

With that said, I don't see myself getting her CD.

I watched her all the way through, something that I can't say about many of the acts on SNL. That said, not my cuppa tea.

I thought her pitch wavered and she sounded a bit winded as she did all those, uhh, "dance moves". And what is the deal with 2 drummers basically playing the same beat? Didn't Likki Lei also have 2 drummers pounding on floor toms during her SNL set?

I thought she sounded a little like ABBA, myself. I didn't get the two drummers, either. Obviously a lot of pre-recorded backing vocals at least. She was OK. Nothing that tripped my trigger, though.

I'm so out of it I thought the thread was about Robin Williams hosting SNL again.
