Get a brown deluxe.Very close in tone to a plexi or more like a jtm 45.
Allen amps makes a great copy of it.

I can get my JCA20h through a pair of Green Berets to be very JCM800ish
I like it.

I was going to suggest the Jet City also, particularly if you're on a tight budget.
I have it and a Marshall Class 5. Love them both. The Class 5 sounds killer with a clean boost pushing it. I picked up a Bad Monkey for $20 recently to see if all the hubbub was true regarding their use as a clean boost. It is.

I've tried a bunch of small amps for those Marshall tones.

Best bang for your buck will be the Reason Bambino as was already posted by another member. Very high quality tones and build from that amp for the money, I haven't seen anything else on the market quite like it. It can also do a whole lot more than just Marshall tones.

Another good quality choice is the Reeves custom 6 or 12 (with powerscaling), but I have not personally tried one to comment.

Best strictly "Marshall" tones overall that I have come across will be the Fargen Miniplex MKII.

The best choices price wise will either be the Jet City 20H or the Egnater Tweaker. The Jet City does better 800 tones where as the Egnater does better JTM45/Plexi tones.

The Blackstar HT-5 is another option that does a good job of the boosted/hotrodded Marshall sound, but has a somewhat different low end and gain structure than JCM800 or Plexi tones.

Personally I did not like the sound of the Marshall Class 5, I found them to be too thin sounding.

I hope that helps, but as always it is best to try out the amps for yourself if possible.

Fuchs Lucky 7 will get you Plexi tones....add a good clean boost in front of it and you'll get some great JCM800 tones.

The Roccaforte Custom 18 will do the same thing. Running both channels at the same time really helps too. I run an EP Booster in front of it and it kills for Marshall tones! They're discontinued, so you'll have to buy used....

If $$$ is tight, I'll agree with the ones who suggested the (in this order) Jet City, then the Tweaker, then the Class 5. All great amps.

Not knowing your budget, here's another vote for the Fargen Mini Plex. Get it as a 1x12 and you're set.
