Moog clusterflux or phaser. None of them are on my gig board, atm. The only analog mod pedal is a Julia, which is a fine chorus pedal.

Try an active volume pedal instead. It solves the tone suck problem of passive volume pedals.

I think of these things not as arranging (choosing chord voicings, fitting parts to a specific range, etc) and as orchestration...

I have done a couple direct to PA gigs, with the Gpdi. It sounded nice. Monitoring can be an issue, and natural feedback is a no go.

My Mel9 likes a buffer before it. A compressor is ok , but I get better results in my rig with an Empress buffer+
