Les Paul GoldTop, do you prefer P90s or humbuckers?

There's a time and place for both. I've had the 2011 (P90s) longer but the 9018 is starting to get a workout too. Love 'em BOTH!!!!

    Orlando Guitar Show 2016

As the northeast was riding out the great blizzard this past Saturday I was looking at guitars at the 2016 Orlando Guitar Show. This year's show was missing some familiar faces (e.g., the guys with the BeatBuddy drum machine pedal, Rick Derringer and Warrior Guitars, Drew Berlin, etc.). With...

    Orlando guitar show

Thanks for the feedback and I have thought about that but honestly I don't have time for the extra work of uploading to another site. I already have the storage space on my server and I figure I took the time to go to the show, take the pics, crop and resize some of them, etc. I share them on...

    Orlando guitar show

Finally getting around to uploading my pics from last weekend's Orlando Guitar Expo. Always a fun way to spend the afternoon looking at some cool old axes. I enjoyed seeing the guys with the MyBeatBuddy demoing their great product, Rick Derringer is always a treat, and (of course) great guitars...

Best Pics of Guitars You Have Taken?

LOL - this thread just proves that not all of us (myself included) are professional photographers. My "best" doesn't claim to a great photo by any standards. It just represents something that I like, which may be how it picked up the flametop or color (not an easy thing to do I've learned), or...

Did BB King ever use the Varitone?

On his Blues on the Bayou album I think he may have changed settings on a couple of songs based on how the guitar sound varies from one track to another. However, I've seen him like 12 or 13 times in concert and I don't recall him changing it. I can't remember for sure but I think he kept it...

    Gibson CS-336 CS-356

Thanks. Yes, "Audrey" was a wonderful guitar. I will find another one of these days when money isn't so tight. Glad to hear you've found some great guitars that you are really enjoying. :)

    Gibson CS-336 CS-356

C-4 I love that 356. Sadly, I had to sell mine last year :( but I hope to have another one of these days. I agree with your description of the differences in sound, tone, feel, etc. All are great guitars in their own way but I'm with you in that the 356 is my personal favorite.

I was there on Saturday. I saw a few familar faces: "Burst Brother" Drew Berlin, Eric Ernest, etc. And Rick Derringer was back in the Warrior Guitars booth this year... always a pleasure to listen to him playing the blues. Great guy and very down to earth! Anyway, here's some pics...

    Happy Birthday Roy Buchanan

Leroy Buchanan, born 74 years ago on September 23, 1939, was perhaps more famous for his influence on other guitarists than what he achieved in his own career. This track, "The Messiah Will Come Again," had such an impact on Jeff Beck that Jeff dedicated his instrumental "Cause We've...
