Would love something not built around the Spin FV-1. A well featured delay would be great.

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

There's nothing to correct. The original Spectre works just fine. There's a new version, Joel is being kind enough to offer you an upgrade to the new version for a very low price-point, that it's his cost. How many other companies have you ever heard to offer that? The price to upgrade for any...

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

I have the old Spectre and I'm already GAS'ing for the new one, haha. Check out the quick video Joel posted of him getting some chorus tones out of it: I need that in my life.

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

There's an internal volume control, though. Have you tried adjusting that? The image I posted above shows which trimmer controls it.

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

Maybe you don't even need the mod since you don't mind the noise, there's an internal trimpot that controls the maximum amount of oscillation/regen. Increasing it by just a bit can make it self-oscillate extremely easy. I've been the the same shoes as you. Joel posted the reference picture below...

    Should I buy an Archer?

Just to give my two cents: I considered getting an Archer or another klone. Then I came across this comparison: That alone was enough to completely change my mind and get the Barbershop instead. Couldn't be happier. The Barbershop is possibly the best overdrive pedal I've ever heard in my...

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

Joel said if you want to keep the purple knobs you can, just include a message with the package. I understand what you say about the charm of the noise and the more 'uncontrollable' feedback', I really get it. I feel however that with the mod it will become much more versatile and usable in a...

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

I've seen a few people in the same situation saying the exact same thing. I really like the Spectre as is, since for recording I can find a way to make it work despite the noise. That being said, I'm really glad, the Spectre is such an awesome pedal and this mod will finally fix the one major...

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

It's really worth it, especially now. Joel mentioned on Facebook some Black Friday deal, so keep an eye out.

Chase Bliss Audio now doing the Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre: no more noise!

So, just in case you didn't catch this, Joel from Chase Bliss is now doing a Blue Knob Mod on the Spectre for $25 that substantially reduces the noise and now makes the regeneration easier to control. Apparently all Spectres from now on will also come with this mod. Since the noise was one...

Can you please, PLEASE, help me figure out my the reverb on my DRRI is so noisy?

Yeah, they are in-circuit readings. Didn't know that, sorry. Do you mean I have to desolder one end and lift it to measure it?

Can you please, PLEASE, help me figure out my the reverb on my DRRI is so noisy?

Hey pdf64, I opened up the chassis and tried to give a look at R29. Turns out both R29 and R30 are reading their correct value: 100kΩ and 820Ω, respectively, with a 10% or so variance. However, I did test R32 (which is supposedly 470kΩ) and it's reading at 190kΩ. I also tested R33 (which is...

Oh, I see. Thanks, I'll see if I can find one of these cables to test. Thanks.

Can you please, PLEASE, help me figure out my the reverb on my DRRI is so noisy?

Hey Jeff, how exactly would I be on doing that? The reverb tank output is a stereo RCA cable that can only connect to a RCA input for the Vibrato channel of the amp. I recorded a sample of the noise: https://clyp.it/y5sa3aco I start with the Reverb at 1 and quickly crank it up to 10. Then I...

Can you please, PLEASE, help me figure out my the reverb on my DRRI is so noisy?

Hey guys, how are you doing? So, can anyone experienced with electronics and most especially Fender amps help me out on figuring out why the reverb on my DRRI is noisy? I initially thought it must have been the tubes but today I finally replaced V3 and V4 (the tubes related to the reverb) and...

[Walrus Audio Vanguard] My new favorite phaser that will never leave my pedalboard.

Here's some pics if you'd like to check them out: Hey guys, a very exciting pedal we demoed today. Over the past months I went from a guy who completely disliked phasers to one who absolutely loves them and the Vanguard just sealed the deal to make a permanent stop at my pedalboard. *******...

E.W.S. Little Fuzzy Drive fuzz demo. Sometimes great things do come in small packages.

Here's some pics if you'd like to check them out: Regarding the demo, a friend (the channel owner) does the music stuff and I do the video/editing/pictures/co-production. Hey guys, here's our second E.w.S. demo. The Little Fuzzy Drive is a very simple but amazing sounding pedal that despite...

Crazy Tubes SPT (Spiral Turbulence) Phaser/Vibe demo. A very interesting and great sounding pedal!

Here's some pics if you'd like to check them out: Hey guys, we just got to demo another phaser. The SPT is a very interesting and awesome sounding phaser with independent controls for depth, feedback and rate. Is also has a switch that changes between traditional phaser and...

Fairfield Circuitry Four Eyes demo. By far the most unique (while still VERY useful) fuzz I've seen.

Here's some pics if you'd like to check them out: This is our second demo from Fairfield Circuitry and it made me notice how focused they are on making truly unique stuff and staying away from the norm. The Four Eyes is what they call a crossover fuzz. It's different because there's no "gain"...

Carl Martin AC-Tone. The best sounding Vox/British-voiced overdrive I've ever heard.

Here's some pics if you'd like to see them: Ok, I'll be honest here. As a huge British rock fan, especially Queen and Brian May, I think this pedal is most likely the best overdrive that nails these tones I've heard in my life. Not only that, it's just a damn good sounding, full of character...

Vick Audio V1 Triangle demo. Wanna hear how the first Big Muff sounds?

Here's some pics if you'd like to see them: Pretty cool pedal here guys, a classic reproduction by Vick Audio of the legendary Triangle Big Muff V1, essentially the first version of the Big Muff. Sounds pretty gnarly while still maintaining clarity and as Vick Audio says, it's also considered...

Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra demo. The ultimate bass beast.

Here's some pics if you'd like some gear porn: A while ago we demoed the regular Microtubes B7K, which we thought was amazing. This time Darkglass brought an updated Ultra version which improves and upgrades pretty much everything you could possibly ask for in the old design. You now have a...

KMA Machines Minos Fuzz. A damn good mix between a Tone Bender and a Super-Fuzz.

Here's some pics if you'd like to check them out: As the title suggests, the Minos fuzz is KMA's germanium based fuzz that's derived from the legendary Tone Bender MKII and the rare Univox Super-Fuzz. It's quite unusual with its controls: you don't have a regular Tone knob but instead you have...

Vick Audio Overdriver. A classic repro of the famous Colorsound from 1971, famously used by Gilmour.

Here's some pics if you'd like to check them out: A really simple and straightforward demo this time, guys, but for a great pedal and company. The Vick Audio Overdriver is a virtually identical reproduction of the 1971 Colorsound Overdriver, the one made famous by David Gilmour and responsible...
