No dealer with half a brain is going to let someone who is not a known expert (sorry, but I am pretty sure the OP is not a vintage...
Pass. That's more than those sold for new.
This is my favorite shot from the photo session I did for my Hamer book cover. Pre-edited image, of course.
LOVE Reverse Birds. Have a Historic FB1 and FB III. They hang fine if you use the strap button at the neck heel as opposed to the bass horn....
Agreed that the new ones are not bad-much better than many of the later TX ones when things got dicey and the USA ones are quite good. Still, I...
$1000 foran unbroken body/neck any day of the week.
To date it between84-86, if it's a VN neck, it should have a brand on the heel. If it's a TX before mid-1985, it should have dates and inspectors'...
Depending on condition, if it has boomers, $1k and up.
Just the yellow '97. I've owned a few dozen original four digits-they're still my favorite guitars.
If yours is an 85, it's a late one when they started going to all-imported MIJ parts. The giveaway is the differently-shaped upper bass bout and...

My current favorite:
Some old friends:
-1965 Fender Jazzmaster
-1978 Fender Strat (lefty)
-1978 Fender Telecaster Custom
-1999 Gibson Historic FB1
-2007 Gibson Historic FB III

#0001 and #0003
Mike is building the best guitars I've ever played or heard in the last 38 years. Unbelievable stuff.
[IMG] Still have those!
A few Surf and Kerry Greens in here, but yeah-one of my favorite finishes. Most of these have moved along, but I still have a few.
Thanks. It's a great guitar. The conversion was mainly aesthetic, but I also wanted a kill switch.
I know a thing or two about Hamers if you have any questions. You could say I wrote the book on them...;)
What is this "neck pickup" you refer to?
Esquires are fantastic-very versatile like LP Jrs.
Yes-it will directly effect treble. If you're running 250k pots on the neck humbucker which usually has 1meg (more treble), it'll sound like mud.
What pots do you have in there? These often had 1meg pots.
I'm a big fan and have owned a few. This black near mint '77 has a new home (still have the 78 Tele Custom for now):
1981 Capri Orange...
