101b - suffered from massive bias fluctuation. Plus it didn’t sound anywhere near as good as my old Cornford RK100 or Brunetti EvoR.
I hate Bogner amps.
Don’t @ me punks
I met schenker a few years ago, when we were playing the same venue, he was a horrible person and very arrogant. Haven’t listened to him since
Mk3 or JTM45
You can tell people you’re doing it and you’re instantly better than them.
I only really like 90s amps!!
My favourites are:
JCM900s ( 2 series /4 series)
Hughes &Kettner Tube 50
The telos does sound pretty good in a few of those positions, but the build is terrible, like most Bogners I’ve come into contact with.
Kempers can’t handle NMV amps very well.
If you’re just going to buy preset packs, get a Helix, easier to use and just as good sounding
6505 and a maxin 808, that’s the definition of metal
I had a squealing from the high input on my old one. I had my local tech replace the inputs and associated parts along with the v1 valve, then it...
2022 - line6 becomes self aware, launches nukes at Fractal and Kemper.
2024 - line6 sends a model of a jcm800 back to kill Jim Marshall in 1987....
That’s absolute madness! The puretone would be up in my top 10 amp designs ever, if they didn’t look so toilet I’d definitely own one, but I’m...
Jcm900 Mk3, I currently use the 2101 and it’s been a revelation for how I write and play.
Other single channels I love:
As a rock player I enjoy the feel and sound of when my amp rattled the floor or stage. For me when playing live it’s an important part of monitoring
You are actually my hero
Has anybody tried any of the Jensen Neos in a Marshall style amp.
I’m currently running a 2101 but I’m thinking that a neo might be the weight...
I remember trying out a Jcm900 2100 mk3 head and 412 when I was about 19. I just loved the tone, but I didn’t actually purchase a mk3 til 20 years...
I paid £250 for my JCM900 2101, best amp I’ve ever owned!
The 5751 is a weapon. It’s always been my secret to massive clarity with big drop tuned chords
I started off with the ace head and a Mesa 3/4back 212 with cl80s. Simply jaw dropping, it’s up there in being one of the best amp drive tones...
I only use:
Marshall Jcm900 2101
PRS MiraX ( heavily modded)
I can do everything I need with that simple rig
I’ve always found that in isolation greenbacks can sound fizzy, but in a band context they sit brilliantly. The thing I really like about...
I think what you’ve described is either the JCM900 Mk3 or SLX!
