Check out Don Mare's pickups.
Anyone have direct knowledge if either of these pickups will fit without mods in the EJ Strat?
I've found every Supro I've tried to be easy to get great tone and dial to taste. Something about their mids. "Haunting" ? :}
Thanks. Reason I'm asking I have an EJ Strat and never used the case. I'm a gig bag guy. Thinking of selling it and saw a price difference in the...
Folks that turn away the EJ Strat because its so stiff feeling w/ standard gauge strings ( 10' or even 9's) really need to get over this juvenile...
The Fender website says only "custom case". Is it the equvalent of their "Pro Series" or "Deluxe Hardshell" or neither? Thanks for informed replies.
Right, the neck on the EJ Strat is quarter sawn and I don't think its going to wiggle! :}
A lot depends on the PARTICULAR gtr too. I settled in w/ 9's for a Strat many yrs ago, but when I got an Eric Johnson Strat I had to go down to...
I don't think you will be disappointed.

Trinity Amps in Toronto is another good one for great instructions and they also have a builder's forum.
I'm pretty sure the Supro Comet would have the leg up on a Blues Jr. in many ways.
Tele with a Analogman Sunlion. Simple, very dynamic, and toneful. I use this rig under all conditions.
EFK knows his stuff! Very helpful.
Really liking my 1624T. Not one of the big boys in the lineup, but it hangs well w/ a pretty hard hitting drummer! Not clean at that point, but...
I've been impressed w/ the sound of all these new RI Supro's. Just wish they were not on PCB's, but then if not, the prices would be much, much...
Tubes, components never a problem. Check prices on some larger items, they maybe a little high.
Im not a fan of PCB amps, but the Supro's I have heard all sound fantastic.
Also they are some of the coolest looking amps I have ever seen.
Thank you sir for this info!
Anyone know if the new reissue Supro amps that come w/ the EH6973 power tubes work well (can handle plate voltage) with the NOS's?
Thanks Tron for the reply. I did test the speaker among other things initially, re: my initial post.
To all the "pros" my apologies if I did not...
I think the morale of this story for me is to invest in NOS 5Y3's only. Probably worth it in the long run. NOTHER UPDATE: well after playing...
Testing my new 5E3 build this is happening. Otherwise it sounds good. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.UPDATE: Sound increased and then no sound....
I know a joke, but if I'm correct those units would never have been accurate for testing tubes to be used in a guitar amp circuit correct?
