I just put a DTAR Wavelength in my HD-28 and it sounds great to me! I also added the K&K internal condenser as a second source, but only use it in low volume situations.

I actually really like the I-Beam system. I've had it in about 4 guitars (one self installed) and they all give very true reproduction of the sound.

I had a Martin OMC Aura - it's an ec sized guitar with the aura system factory installed with models created just for this series and to be honest, it was not to my liking. Not bad... but just not to my liking. Way too boomy. It had several adjustments, but there was really only one sweet spot - anything else was quack or boom.

I have a Larrivee Parlour guitar with a factory installed IMix system - had it for about a year now - and I must say... it is very very nice. Sounds good in indoor and outdoor venues.
