I am contemplating one of these, either Scumnico or Weber 100 watt Alnico for a 1-12" cabinet and was wondering if any of you guys have any experience with either the Weber or Scumback 100 watt Alnico?

I am planning on putting it into a CAA 1-12" Cube cabinet.

I haven't even received a 100 watt Scumnico yet, so I can't tell you about it. What amp, guitar, pickups, fx, & style of music are you mixing?

I'm running a NOS JBL-K120 AlNiCo in my Vintone cab along with an original EVM12L.

The cab sounds absolutely huge, but honestly while the highs from the K-120 are remarkable, I have to be very careful about damaging what's left of my hearing. The speaker can sound a bit brittle unless you push it and then you're talking paint peeling punishment.

I'm not sure how much difference it makes in overall tone using the metal dust cap vs paper,
but it would seem at least that paper would warm things up a bit.

Southbay, if you haven't received one, I guess then only the Weber speakers are out there. I sent you an email.
