The reviews are OK, not all THAT funny. It's the guitar that's hilarious.

I played one at the Martin booth at Folk Alliance in February. In truth, it was a mediocre guitar. I would not have paid $250 for it.

What makes a new Martin worth $88,000?
Not mocking or making fun. Just wondering.

Click on the D-100 link then look at all of the pictures and the detail of the inlay work, the neck has less than the entire inlayed back of the guitar.

Some of the reviews were pretty funny.

Yes, really. I'm not exaggerating out of disdain. It was, at best, as good as a mediocre assembly line guitar. Not even a "pretty good" assembly line guitar.

I saw one of these in a Guitar Center in Scottsdale. I didn't find it visually appealing and with that mmuch inlay I am not surprised it isn't resonant.

I'd rather have a D42 Marquis. Better guitar for playing and don't worry about losing a $80,000 guitar (with discount:crazy )

I saw this one at the NAMM show. The inlay work is very detailed and very well executed, but I have to agree with some of the post above, I thought the design was awful. You guys know me, I like that over the top inlay stuff, but this looks just like lot of inlay for the sake of lot of inlay. No theme, no focus, just lots of shell. Also, it's like a 10k-15K inlay job, so how is that $80k. I don't know. But I wish I had gotten the contract ;)

I'm surprised that MF put up those reviews as they're obviously jokes. I know that all reviews are looked over by MF prior to them actually going up. Interesting...

No kidding. You'd think that if he helped do the inlay work on $100K Martins, he'd invest a little bit in a site that doesn't look like it was made by a high schooler learning to use Microsoft Front Page.
