Been spending some time on a Tele Jr that has a 10meg vol pot and I gotta say that I like it! I know the Tele Jr by itself (completely stock) is already a winner for slide but IMO, this makes it even that much more a winner!

You could also lift the connection on the last part of the pot and make it run wide open (infinite resistance).

a 1 meg will sound the same and give a marginally more useful sweep.

At "10", it's the same as any other pot but the upper end doesn't bleed off as rapidly as with other pots when I back the volume down to clean things up. I'm glad it's in there! :)

I'll have to say that after 30+ years of repair work I've never seen or tried a 10 meg pot but I'm crazy enough to try it once.

if you want to keep the highs when you back the volume off why not use a treble bleed circuit? for as little as $.25 for the cap and resistor it's certainly worth it, and you wouldn't have to source a 10Meg pot.

I was wondering about this. I have a few 3 meg CTS audio pots. I wanted to put one in a high output humbucker guitar and was wondering what that would do compared to the 500k. I imagine it would become brighter and louder, but I don't know if it would be unbearably so.

Definitely brighter and not unbearably so IMO.
