Hey guys, I'm currently using a /13 EDT and find the volume to be too high for bedroom levels. So here's my question:

Would running the amp at 8ohm into the speaker (16ohm) lower the output? More importantly, would it damage the amp!?!?!

Run at 4 ohm into 8 ohm speaker to lower the output slightly
    BUT
if you are already running at 1/2 power you are effectively doing the same thing as 2 verses 4 tubes are looking at the transformer primary impedance

I would not suggest using half power and a mismatch as you could cause damage
