Do they exist? You know its funny, a Tweed Deluxe, you can get for about $800 - 900 built for you, but these 18 watt Marshalls, or their clones all seem to be about $1500 or more. I just don't have that kind of coin, to throw around, but I keep fantasizing about an 18 watt and a Tweed Deluxe, running in stereo.:dude

    Any suggestions?

I have a buddy that is selling a nice 18 watt Marshall clone with a Heritage replica Marshall 2X12 combo cab for $1100. It's looks great with a small Marshall logo and is equipped with a Weber blue dog and Celestion G12H30. I guess Paul Cochrane did some work on it too. Great amp for the price. Buy used and play for free.:AOK

    Go here: http://www.s2amps.com

With Steven there are many options.
I just got a micro plexi and it sounds amazing!

    I supplied a blues junior ($250-$450 used/new black/blonde/tweed)
He'll do it for around $400-$500. When its all said and done you should be under $1000 fairly easily.

Seems to me the most economical way would be:

    1. Order from Ceriatone a completed amp, with shipping: $600
    2. order a 1x12 combo cab from Weber VST: $230, plus $25 or so - $255
    3. Order Celestion G12H30 from Avatar with shipping- $80

    So all told: $935

Its not like Nik at Ceriatone is using cheap components according to what's listed on his site. I do however worry about sending my CC info to another country.

Pretty sure he's in the process of changing webmasters, etc.
Lots of props at the 18watt.com site and I have an old page here:

I wouldn't worry about sending my cc # to Nik. I bought an amp from him (it's good -- I posted a review here a little while ago) and struck me as a very honest businessman. And, if I'm not mistaken, you can pay by paypal, which doesn't require you to send any sensitive information any where.

    Best,

    Martin

I got mine from Jesse on sale for just over $1100 and and I've seen them go on Ebay for less.

    I absolutely love mine!

I purchased and assembled 18 Watt TMB from Nik at Ceraitone. Great amp, great components, got it very quickly. And yes, I paid with Paypal, so no sensitive CC info needs to be sent. He does excellent work and is great to communicate with. I highly recommend it for the money.

Budda's Twinmaster comes in a 1x12 or 2x10 combo format, and as a head. You can get used ones of any of the three formats for generally in the $700 - $900 range. The head is really versatile in allowing you to pair it with your speaker/cab of choice, and the combos are both grab and go and pedal friendly (if need be). Great rocking sounds here that won't kill your small club crowd.

Graydon Stuckey (GDS amps) is a benchmark 18w builder of renown. His amps run about $1200 but he will sell you a complete kit for $750, you supply the solder and time. I hear its really fun and rewarding, yet the finished kits have very strong resale value.

Graydon is a cool guy and will even talk to you if you hve questions.

A friend of mine had Steven do a Tweed Deluxe/18w Marshall. The Tweed side of that amp absolutely screams. Cool amp for the dough.

However, if you are already at the $800 mark, I would also consider a Clark Beaufort Special.

To me, and this is subjective and personal, the best 18 watt amp (and my favorite and most used amp of any amp I own ... Z or non-Z, is my Carmen Ghia.
