Hi, i've got PT and i'd like to use it in 18 watt amp but I'm confused about its filament voltages. It has a 2 x 6.3v filament feed, technician who made this should've know how it has to be, like 6.3v - 0 or 3.15v-0-3.15v anyway it wasn't what i ordered. Actually in Turkey this kind of PT's not usual orders for the technicians,i couldn't totally blame them :). Question is its got Earth on it, can i use this earth and single of the 6.3v's as 6.3v - 0v filament feeder. here is the picture.[IMG][/IMG]

Power up your transformer and get a meter. Bet it's 6.3 vac between those two terminals.

I agree with jaytea4. The two 6v3 wires will have 6.3v between them (0 and 6.3). You'll need to create a virtual centre tap for the filaments: attached a 100 ohm resistor to each side, connect the loose ends, and then connect those ends to a convenient ground point.
