Well, I've wanted one of these for years and then a friend of my son tells me that his dad has one under the bed and wants to sell it. I jumped on it - all original except for the case. but that's 40+ years old, as well...

I want to get a good case for it - like the one Gibson uses for their historics - is that TKL? I only see black ones on their site. Anyone have a good suggestion?

That is a gorgeous slab of mahogany, nice score.

Yeah - original frets, tuners, pickup and wiring, hw... no cracks - plenty of dings, but that's just fine

Wow, that is great! I am a big junior fan. I've had a '64 SG Jr. since 1975. I have always wanted an LP Jr, particularly a '59!

Beautiful guitar! Check out Ameritage cases. I commissioned one for my father’s ES150DC. Turned out great!

For a while I used a recent Historic case with my ‘59 and it was good enough. Then I found an old ‘70’s The Paul case and it fit more snug(gly?).

Likewise,I have my '59 in a 70's case also and the fit is perfect.

I think the one I have is probably a 70's case - there's no logo or markings on it. Is your's like this:

Nice score! That right there is one of my favorite guitars ever, and what is to me the perfect neck profile (assuming it's the usual '59 chunky neck).

I just found this similar one on eBay - different interior color, but the latches and screws seem to (kinda) match up:

Congrats! Those double cut Jrs are one of my favorite guitars ever!

Mine has a gray Gibson logo, but yours looks similar. Does a regular carved top LP fit? It won’t in the The Paul case, it’s not deep enough.

Here it is with a regular ‘70’s case on top. The ‘70’s cases are a lot like the Historic cases, just a little less sturdy.

    Here’s my ‘59 in a Historic case.

Why do you need a better case?? Are you Flying or a touring ?? Hell, that case is perfect if all the latches work ... I have a 57 Jr, and I just use a gig bag to and from gigs of corse I'm the only one that moves it around.

I looked into the same case that the historics ship with - TKL wants $800 bucks for one!

That’s insane. May as well get a guitar with it!

If we’re grabbing all, I really like the brown ‘90’s USA cases. I have a couple of those and they take a beating better than the Historic cases.
