I was in a local music store the other day to buy a bass guitar and started to discuss my guitar and amp collection explaining I will be selling and trading some off some soon. The salesman pulled me over and said you have to look at this that just came in less than an hour ago and there was one of the most beautiful all original '61 Stratocasters I've ever had pleasure to see in person. My first guitar my parents bought me was a '73 Sunburst Strat. The salesman picked it up handed it to me and said go ahead and play it...I carefully looked it over and then gingerly handed it back and said thanks but that's fine as it could be had for a mere $20K

It's just a guitar. You should've played it. It might've been a nice experience.

pity it don't have a painted head like the squire

    I'd have given it a good spank - it's a guitar.

Nice! Would have been 50K a couple of years ago if original.

That sure is clean. No aging on the headstock or plastic. Almost too clean for a 50+ y.o. guitar.

I still have dreams of a hardtail 61 I couldn't swing in the early 90's. Hanging on the wall at guitar center of all places.

My thoughts as well, especially the color of the headstock.

Uncommon but they're out there. There's a '55 in the Emporium right now that looks like a museum piece. Check it out.
