I had to do some rewiring and change a couple of bad pots in my guitar and I noticed that it was modded from the Varitone switch to a master volume in its place. While I was Doing the work I took readings from the pickups and the neck pickup is around 7.75k and the bridge is reading right around 6.85k... So, I'm wondering if the person who did the master volume accidentally put the pickups in the wrong position OR the bridge pickup has lost some of it's pizazz over the last 51 years. Wondering if I should change positions now. It sounds killer

No mistake there. Back then, they didn’t have what we consider bridge pickups and neck pickups. They just had pickups. They pulled them out of a bin and installed them. There’s no harm in swapping them around if you’re curious.
