1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I've enjoyed my Rosewood Tele for a while now and curiosity struck me about the companion Strat that was supposedly made for Hendrix but never saw the light of day. I thought it was lost for good but just 5 minutes ago I found a pic of it on Strat Central, scanned from Yasuhiko Iwanade's "The Galaxy of Strats" book...oh lordy! The Custom Shop should make a run of these for sure!

:AOKYou can buy this guitar at The Music Gallery. They have one of those guitars in stock and they are very heavy. Ask for Frank and he will give you a good deal.

There is some info about that guitar in the Beatles Gear book. They made one each of the Strat and Tele, and the Tele was hand-delivered to Harrison. At that point, the Strat disappeared.

I've seen one of these in person - can't remember where, but the thing I do remember is how HEAVY it was!

I built a solid rosewood strat a couple of years ago. Not quite as fancy as the one above, but it has some great tones.

I played one of those...it was simply way too heavy. It neither felt good nor sounded good. I have a 1969/70 rosewood tele and it is heavy but not brutal.
