I found this on Ebay...the BIN was just rediculous, so i made a lowball offer and it was accepted!!!!

All original...frets, pickups, tuners, pots, etc. The frets have some wear, but there is plenty there to level and crown.

The DiMarrzio pickups are smokin hot, or seem to be. The neck is a Med. C with a beautiful rosewood board.

Fabulous condition for a 34 yr old guitar...plays great....killer tone!!!

    Did i mention its BOUND & CROWNED?????:D

Beautiful guitar! I've got a '78 too and those are my favorite humbuckers.

Looks sweet but I guess I don't get why they call it a sunburst?

Originally, they were only offered in a sunburst finish (the first year) ... either cherry, light, or dark 'burst'. But really the 'Sunburst' name is a tribute to the famous 'Burst' guitars from 1958-1960.

I bought a new one in "78. Great guitar; like it more than a Les Paul and it was about $600. My son has it now.

dude! I played one just like that yesterday for the first time ever. THESE ARE IMPRESSIVE!! And the price makes you jump. Very cool. If the one I was playing wasnt a cherry sunburst, it would be here!

    Nice guitar.

    Wow beautiful guitar !
Congratulations I didnt know they did the bound and crowned back then. Does your guitar have the thick sustain bridge ? it looks like it may be the bridge they used before they came up with the Sustain style bridge ? hard to tell from the angle of photos.
I have an 82 special and its nowhere near as nice as that but boy it's a great great guitar.

    Thanks man!

Bound n crwoned sunburst in 77-78-79 are certainly hard to find...i dont know the exact numbers but the ratio to dot necks has to be less than half.

it has the Ebony block under the bridge...so i think this is pre-sustain block bridge?

    Nice guitar.

Is Sunburst the model? Because, you know, it's black.
