I’ll do clips, but they won’t sound as nearly as good as yours do!

actually this works quite well, esp in the studio where you can fine-tune sounds

EDIT: jeff beck did this with delay or reverb, on his jtm45 at ronny scotts, if memory serves

    My 2c FWIW.

Nice middle of the road Choke value.........we used this same value for my NOS JTM45 build with a NOS RS 20 Henry Choke.

I see values that typically range from 5 - 30 Henrys.

This is probably worth a read.

    Good call!

A year or two ago I bought a Morley A/B/Y with level pots, and a passive splitter. I used to set up my pedals in parallel and run them into one amp. The main reason I set up that rig was to blend fuzz with cleaner dirt. It was pretty fun/entertaining. I especially like fuzz like the Super Fuzz FY6, and Octavia in parallel.

I didn’t have a 4 holer at that time but I did have a Frenzel tube preamp with jumpable channels and I’d use that sometimes to bring the chains back together instead of the Morley. I got some really cool tones but certain pedals would make it go out of phase. What this setup really did was make me want a 4 holer that much more. Lol.

I think some fuzz would be good on one side of a Y splitter so it still reacts to guitar vol/impedance. I like your idea of going in the Normal Hi and jumping from Normal Lo to High Treble with a Fuzz pedal. I’ll have to try that for sure. At some point, I plan to split the signal in 2 and give myself a bunch of opinions to experiment with.

I’m ready with the tubes! I picked these up from tubes unlimited recently at a decent price given that these are getting scarce:

These are labeled Marconi which I think is what GEC tubes used. Learned something new today.

    Hope they work out okay!

Don’t be. I haven’t heard how these sound yet. The amp will ship with TAD KT66 tubes so I’ll be able to compare the two!

edit: Sorry OP gonna stop hijacking the thread now :).

Will you be able to bias yourself?

I've got external bias test points and adjustment being built in my amp.

Please hijack away my friend. I dig the discussion.

We’re going to keep the amp straight without external bias points. There are a few amp guys around here I can take the amp to to get these put in.

Those tubes are the sh@t! Marconi Valve Company invented the KT66. Do you have a picture of the tube? That is GEC by the way.

    @glogulus - apologies if you've already mentioned.

What cab/s are you going to be using with your amp?

I’ve got a 1960bhw loaded with heritage g12ms and a bogner slant with g12-65s. They sound great with my wizards and metroplex so the jtm should fit right in. We shall see!

The tubes look great. Was it tricky doing the exchange? How did you ship the organs? Those things cost a small fortune!

I'm just about to start a so-called Dickenson JTM45/100. This will be fun...

It was pretty easy. They send you a cooler filled with dry ice! I didn’t need that kidney anyway!
