Dave is a mmber of the Metro forum. He gives some really good detailed info about Hendrix amps.
The Metropoulos forum has a bunch of good stuff.
I believe the first JTM45/100s had faceplates like the one I posted and the later ones had MkII on the left, titles for the channels above the volume pots, and JTM45 on the right.
I’m pretty sure the first Jtm45/100’s from 65 & 66 had MKII on the left by the switches and the 67 models had the Black Flag JTM logo. The Black Flag logo appeared at the end of 66 into 67
Ah, I see.
I just had the timeline the wrong way around then.
Here's the 2 different faceplates that appeared on the JTM45/100.
As per @VICOwner , this is the first version:
And here's the second version:
If you look at amparchives.com
There’s many pictures of the amps by model, year and serial number. Lots of great pictures. The Jimi Hendrix 7026 is in there, a 1992 dual output transformer and many others.
Cool, I'll go have a look.
Black flag is mid 67. The jtm45 faceplate was still used on the first el34 amps intoduced in February 1967
Whenever I hear the term Black Flag, I always think of this.........which of course has absolutely nothing to do with Amps.
Well it could do if I play the thing un-attenuated and the cops are called.
Been looking at 4X12 options, and the 1960TV is leading the race at the minute..........
I always coveted a 1960TV with basketweave cloth. Sadly I have no room for it unless I start shedding amps.
I need to do some manoeuvring in my music room to get it in there that's for sure.
To assist in my decision making I made a quick comparison using 4X12 IRs.
The speaker I like most in this comparison doesn't come stock in any Marshall 4X12 cab that I'm aware of. I still really want Scumback M55s............
Here's a thought. Ask Kevin at the Speaker Factory to quote you on a clone of the Marshall 1960TV Cab.
They will more than likely be making the Head Shell for the 45/100 as their work to date has been really impressive.......did an awesome job on mine. Barry & I will use them for the next one & I'll get a matching 212 Diagonal Cab from them as well.
Have it sent to you by road back freight & buy 4 x M55's from Jim at Scumbak.
Load 'em up & you're good to go.
The end result will be a better Cab than what Marshall make, I'm sure. You can even slap a Marshall Logo on it if that floats your boat.
They mentioned it's not worth them doing as it would be more economical to purchase a Marshall cab. They mentioned that they rarely do 4X12s because of that.
I'll likely end up grabbing a Marshall cab and down the line selling the speakers to help fund Scumbacks.
A good mate of mine knows the owner of the Rock Inn really well, I know him as well as he's bought Guitars from me in the past.
Do you want me to see if I can get closer to a Wholesale deal for you?
I'll PM you mate.
