OK so the title might be a little misleading...
When I installed these Schaller strap locks today on my G&L, I used the stock screws but when reinstalling it was really hard to get them all the way in. Should I worry about the wood stress-cracking? (When things got tough, I backed off a few turns and then proceeded, repeating this a few times when putting in the upper horn's strap button)
And, 2nd question: I also installed the longer Schaller screws in my Schecters because the stock screws didn't fit / were too loose when installing the strap buttons, but it was easy to get the longer screws in that Schecter (crappy) wood. No worries there? I mean irrespective of your opinion on the brand.
