I guess the title says it all-

Is a regular production 1991 Gibson Les Paul Custom weight relieved?

Any opinion on 1991 being a good or bad year for LP Customs?

    Thanks

Weigh it. Most stock Customs will come in at 10 lbs. or better.
Do you like the guitar? Then '91 was a GREAT year for Customs!

Actually in the late 80s early 90s Gibson had a pretty good batting average. Not sure if they were swiss-cheesin' back then.

Mine '91 is a Custom Shop, heavy as a hippo, workmanship was more like "Apprentice Shop" though, ---just horrible :jo.
But It's got a great feel, and thanks to WCR pickups and wiring kit, it sounds like a dream

afaik yes, they were weight relieved back then already.
i donßt believe in "good or bad" years for guitars. either the specific guitar came out right (meaning = to your liking) or not.
i had a 89 if i remember right., heaviest les paul i ever touched 12+lbs of heavy swiss cheese... the guitars tone was ok, not bad and not a holy grail but the weight killed it for me. also had 2 post 2000´s 68 custom reissues which i liked way better but still heavy and HUGE necks....

    Definitely.
You'll see "swiss cheese" holes if you put her through an xray machine.

I've got a '90's LP Custom. It's a very well built LP. It's much lighter than my 1980 LP Custom. The only thing I didn't like about the '90 was the pickups - which aren't in there any more.
