1999 Lick?

Prince. What's the little lick going on pretty much throughout the song?

Anyone got the real deal tab or can tab it out? I've got he basic F to Cm7 type gist but it would be nice to know exactly what's going on.

Actually makes sense perfectly. I'm hearing the same thing - no high E string in the first chord but it gets added on the sus chord. I was trying to play a plain F at first and fingering it was a bit funky (pun intended) - this will work much better.

It is weird. "Party like it's 1999" used to be futuristic. Now it is retro.

That reminds me a lot of Parliment's Flashlight lick! Love it! Flashlight was one of the licks I decided to work on when I realized my timing and feel sucked! Chris Hunt you're a great teacher. I still practice all I l earned under your tutelage. Hope you're doing well.
