I'm looking to downsize my rig a bit from two heads/two 2x12 cabs, to one head running into two 1x12 cabinets. I originally wanted something made of solid pine since that is what I have preferred in the past, but I'm open to trying something made of ply. I'd be interested to hear anyone's thoughts on solid vs ply cabs as well. I am going to go with 2 different cabs, along with 2 different speakers, one cab/speaker optimized for smooth, mid heavy single note overdriven lead tones played with a les paul, and one for open, chimey clean tones played with a strat. I'm curious what people's experience has been with the following cabs - would also be helpful to know what types of tones you find the cabs/speakers best suited for. Two-Rock Glaswerks Limited Resistence Sinewave Hermida (might not be deep enough) Port City Wave Pure 64 Southbay Tone Tubby Anything else I should look into?
