1.can it do good lower gain Plexi-ish tones?
2.can it do JCM800 mid to higher gain tones?

I know to pull off both tasks, 100% , is a pipe dream...but just curious how close it gets. I have a couple friends that rave about it, so I hope to try it out soon. That said, I have yet to hear a real convincing demo. Most sound a bit fizzy. Thanks for the thoughts .

Much better then the pedals I was using!! The classic gain is like the Bogner blue with boost off but more gain maybe some. The breakup is so nice! The Ultra gets ya into 80's and metal, just keep the gain around 2 o'clock and not much more maximum for me.

Very cool Ken! I know you loved those Bogner pedals...so you think the two channels on the DSL sound similar to the Blue and Red? If so, that's a great thing!

I didn't have my Les Paul when I had the red but the dsl is very clear and dynamic!! With my lead tones,I'm pretty floored right now its a few days old.The tones I been searching for.

The amp is definitely worth checking out I love mine, tubes and speaker change will cure the fizz if you dont like the stock tones. I just put back in the Creamback 65 in mine and use all JJ tubes and pull off some descent tones.

Here is a clip I did a while ago with the Creamback 65 installed if you want to check it out, I always try and go for that hot rodded 800 tone.

Are you using any other pedals in your rig? fuzz, boosters, wah? wonder how they work with this amp.

I keep the gain around 2 o clock and bass at 2 o clock, Treb and mids at 10 o clock resonance at 2 o clock I run it at 40 watts for the fullness. Mines new so settings may change. You have 6v6 never tried yours yet.

Here's how I basically set my red channel.
Just use the guitar's volume for cleaning it up, the amp cleans up pretty well.
I use a strat with a Dimarzio SD in the bridge.

    gain - 3
    bass - 2
    mid - 6 to 7
    treble - 5
    presence - 7 to 8

    Deep switch - on

Plug straight into the amp no need for dirt pedals with this amp for my use!

    ^^^^^

I thought the reverb sounded great on that clip also.

From the amp right? Any delay in there?

    Thanks!

Played the Les Paul with the coils split into the clean channel with my guitars boost on. I was doing Pinball Wizard it sounded great nice and clear and had the volume maxed! very similar to my twin I had!
