I am looking for a guitar to become my ultimate giging axe. I am thinking a super strat will get me what I want. I currently use a Fender strat in the neck position, and an SG in the bridge position live so i would like to sum those sounds into one guitar. Recommend me a super strat with a floyd in the 2,000 and under range.

Suhr, Suhr, or if you need something else, Suhr.

I am looking at the Suhrs but what I can not find it a SSH configuration with a Floyd. I see the S5 and S6 has the floyds but the S3 and S4 have the SSH configuration I want.
Any help is appreciated, maybe someone can message John Suhr. I cant remember his handle.

I'd also go for the Suhr. I need a Suhr....badly. Already have it spec'd out in my head.

I have been on such an Ibanez kick today, so I say an ibanez prestige Rg or S model

killer quality for less $$ than the Suhr

You might take a look at the Carvin Bolt, Bolt Plus, and Contour 66. They're not everybody's thing, but they offer options you might not find anywhere else for quite a bit less than other high end guitars. For example, if you like the SG's mahogany, but want a maple neck/fretboard.

For me, personally, dragging a $3k+ work of art to gigs makes me nervous. If you were asking "what's the best superstrat on the planet", my answer might be different (dammit those Suhrs are gorgeous!). But for a gigging workhorse that's going to sound good, play really well, and stand up to abuse without costing you a fortune, I'd say Carvins are at least worth a look.

Check out the Jackson/Charvel Adrian Smith signature model. If I had the spare cash, that is the next guitar I would pick up.

You have a lot of options! You can get almost any superstrat in that range.

My favorites were the old Fender Contemporary strats (not the dorky HM Strats), the Ibanez RG550s (RG560 is the HSS one, but you can get strat tones with the HSH 550...a great guitar!), Kramer Pacers, Charvels and B.C. Rich Gunslingers.

I'd be all over this if I were you:

    Or this:

    Or this:

    Or these ($1099 new!):

    Or this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-IBANEZ-RG35...QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item3355dc8da0

These are all seriously good guitars (Even the $400 Ibanez)...I cannot imagine why you would pay $1000 dollars more for a Suhr or somthing.
