The build is complete. Total cost of parts was $450. Both Eddie's original Frankenstrat as well as his 5150 Kramer influenced the direction I went with in terms of aesthetics. I wasn't going for an authentic recreation, since I wanted to be about function rather than form; for example, I wanted a functional single coil in the neck and a three-way blade switch mounted into the pickguard.

I did all the assembly work myself besides drilling the mounting holes into the neck, which I had a tech do for me (tuner holes, decal, and headstock finish were done by previous owner). I'm not necessarily a huge EVH fan, but I've always loved the color scheme (red, black, and white are my favorite colors) and the fact that the originals were very personal and simply a labor of love, with complete disregard for conventional aesthetics and functionality.

    Mystery Kramer body
    Musikraft neck
    Schaller locking tuners
Floyd Rose Special bridge and hardware
    Porter Pickups Classic Humbucker
Mystery single coil (sounds surprisingly good)
Emerson Custom Guitars wiring harness (emersoncustomguitars.com)

Thanks to you guys for the help in the few threads I made where I had questions regarding this build.

RAWK! Kramer doesn't seem to get much love on TGP.

Do you remember those group shots of Ed's Red, Black, & White guitars that Guitar World uses to publish all the time back in the late 80s, very early 90's ?

I reckon you could've slipped that one in as one of the herd and no one would've blinked an eye..

    Nice guitar man
